Museum Show: Paper Creatures @ The Old Jaffa Museum, Old Jaffa, Israel

Perhaps the greatest privilege of working in the arts is getting the chance to meet - and if I'm lucky enough, work with - talented, inspirational, and truly exciting people with strong visions.  Ilan Garibi, although we've only had to the chance to speak online, is one of those people.

A talented origami artist in his own right,  Ilan has gathered together the works of 32 paper artists from around the world, and created a temporary collection including origami, paper sculpture, folding, paper cutting, pop up, and more.

I wish I could fly over to Old Jaffa in Israel to meet the guests and see the art next Friday, alas it is not to be.  I hope that those of you in that part of the world stop on by, fall in love with some art, and share your thoughts.

“Paper Creatures” is an international exhibition that reveals a world of unlimited possibilities of paper art.

32 artists from around the world have transformed words and thoughts, usually reserved for the realm of imagination, into spectacular works depicting unearthly creatures, never seen before.

The exhibition invites you to a magical journey, beyond time and space, where simple and common paper becomes the essence of creation, using a variety of techniques, such as origami, pop-up, and paper cutting.
