The hottest days of summer may have slipped into the past, but the long, humid nights cling still, making sleep hard to come by.  Abandoning an unwelcoming bed, you walk out into the night's clammy embrace.  The lone and mournful miii-miii-miii of an insomniac cicada drifts down from the shadowy trees, begging for attention you dare not give.  Something soft brushes against your face, sticks like cobwebs, crawls across your skin.  Is that a whisper in your ear?  A cheerless lament?  There to the left, see?  A shadow slips and vanishes between deeper shadows.  The dry crack of a branch, the rustling of thirsty leaves.  There's a craving that hangs in the air, a deep and sombre hunger.

You can satisfy your own hunger for new, strange, scary, and surreal art at Arts Rush Gallery in Daikanyama, Tokyo from August 29th until the 10th of September.  

Celebrate and bask in the bewitching creations of 10 artists who have peered deep into the darkest dark and crafted portraits of the void that gazed back.  

Ah, and I have some brand new (as in:  finished yesterday) works in the show.
