The Art of Sharing Happiness (a humble suggestion)
I’m offering gift certificates for the first time ever.
Hey, look! I didn’t bury the lede. Maybe also for the first time ever. No poetic lead-ins or cleverly winking introductions. Just a simple statement of a simple, hopefully helpful fact.
Now, I mentioned happiness and the act of delivering it to other humans, right? A noble pursuit, especially with all of this going on right now (gestures expansively to an increasingly unknowable and chaos-strewn universe).
I’ve always found that sharing the things that bring joy to me is the most surefire way to spread that feeling of joy to others. The goal isn’t necessarily to make them love what you love, although if it turns out that way that’s awesome. Rather, you’re exposing a little bit of yourself - how you think and feel - through the things that excite you, make your heart tremble, paste a grin on your face.
And hey, if the thing that illuminates your life just happens to be paper art, that’s cool too.
A few details about the gift cards / certificates / what-have-you’s
These gift certificates (gift cards, if you prefer), can be purchased in the online shop. They can be redeemed towards postcards, prints, tees, original art - anything I sell anywhere on the site, really.
Values start at $25 and go up to $250 USD. If none of those values suit your needs, drop me a line and maybe I can do something about it.
They can be delivered as either:
a unique digital code via email, or
you can send it to yourself, print out the very nice looking PDF, tuck it into a card, and hand it (safely) to the happy art lover yourself,
or heck, I don’t think there’s any rule against giving one to yourself if you think you deserve something nice.
There’s no actual, physical plastic card. But I designed one anyway. I think it looks very nice.
Why are gift certificates only available for a limited time?
My web host, Squarespace, has decided to make gift cards available for me (and lots of other websites) to sell while this whole virus thing goes on. Usually, I’d need a more expensive plan. So thanks, SQSP. As things stand, I’m able to offer them until September 1, 2020.
What happens after September 1st?
I probably won’t be able to sell the gift cards / certificates anymore.
That’s it.
You’ll still be able to redeem the gift certificates at my online shop. They will never expire (as long as my website and shop are still up and running, which should be for a very long time).
