This morning, I woke to the sound of the rain. Not the gentle Spring pitterpat of droplets tapping at the window glass, but rather the relentless cacophony of the heavens dousing the earth with buckets of water. And the occasional rumble of distant thunder to punctuate whatever sodden point they were trying to make.

梅雨. Rainy season. It has begun, and this year, it’s serious.

When rainy season comes damply knocking, Summer is not far behind.

Making this the perfect time for Arts Rush to hold its annual Tシャツ展 • T-Shirt Show.

They are amazing, and unique, and the only way I know to celebrate and share art in public. I mean, other than museums. Or graffiti. Or public art installations, or…

…But you can’t carry a museum with you. So T-shirts are really cool, and if you’re in the Tokyo area, you should definitely stop by Arts Rush and pick one up.

I even made a couple. In the process, I learned a little about printing T-shirts, which is great because I am always looking for trivial facts and detailed processes to help my family get to sleep. Win-win.
