Huzzah! Shipping Finally Resumes to the US!
There’s no reason to bury the lede here:
EMS shipping to the US, and much of the world, has resumed!
This means two things:
You can now purchase giclée prints, laser cut prints, and original artwork from the shop. And even better, I can send them to you!
There goes my excuse for not getting Christmas presents for my family. sigh
Service to the US resumed as of June 1st, according to Japan Post. Why haven’t I mentioned it until July? Well, that’s down to some Hard Choices™. Today’s optimistic and happy post is reserved for only good news, so more on that another time.
As of July 8, 2021, I can ship EMS priority to the United States, most of Asia, most of Europe, and parts of the Middle East. And New Zealand!
I cannot ship EMS priority to Canada, Australia, the Russian Federation, most of South America, and most of Africa.
Here’s the full list of nations.
Some notes
Don’t expect super-duper-speedy shipping just yet, America. There’s limited space on planes, so it might take a bit longer than it used to to zip a package from here to there.
Although I still can’t ship priority to certain countries, I can send via normal airmail. So, postcards and tees can fly to most nations.
That list of nations isn’t in alphabetical order. Not in Latin-derived, English-language, ABC alphabetical order, in any case. It’s translated from the Japanese Katakana alphabet, which goes roughly: vowel sounds, then ka, ki, ku, ke, ko, than sa, shi, su… Y’know, it’s easier to just scan the list haphazardly. That’s what I did.
This whole thing is based on availability of space on airplanes. As more people get vaccinated, more space will open up, and shipping will get faster to more places. So, get your shots and someday we travel again!
New Zealand gets priority shipping before Australia? Don’t get me wrong, I love you, New Zealand, but that seems weird.
You might notice some price changes. Sorry. I’ll talk about that soon.
